My tender-hearted little girl

Through all of her high energy and craziness, Mikayla is a sweet, thoughtful and very tender-hearted little girl.

Mikayla recieved this book as a gift last year. It is a book that has the lyrics from the popular songs along with some lovely drawings.
Mikayla enjoys the story. She likes hearing about Jackie Paper and his adventures with Puff. However, as we reach this part, we have a breakdown of emotions.

A dragon lives forever but not so little boys
Painted wings and giant rings make way for other toys.
One grey night it happened, jackie paper came no more
And puff that mighty dragon, he ceased his fearless roar.

His head was bent in sorrow, green scales fell like rain,
Puff no longer went to play along the cherry lane.
Without his life-long friend, puff could not be brave,
So puff that mighty dragon sadly slipped into his cave.

Everytime, we reach this part of the story. Mikayla starts crying (sobbing really) and asking why Jackie Paper grew up. And then she goes on to say that she wants to stay her size and that she doesn't want to grow up. It had been a couple of months since we read the story, but she said she really wanted to read it tonight. She also insisted that she wouldn't get upset. Such was not the case. I love me sweet little girl - if I could keep her "her size" I would!
